Up to now, the digital economy is gradually being formed and developing rapidly; digital technology is applied in industries, agriculture and services; There are more and more forms of business, service, supply chain… based on digital technology, thereby creating more job opportunities, income, utilities, improving quality of life. of people.

However, the Government of Vietnam still assesses that technological innovation, digital transformation and supply chain diversification in Vietnam have not yet met the requirements and there is still much room for development.

“More than ever, the need for technological innovation and digital transformation is becoming more urgent for Vietnamese businesses to improve competitiveness, production efficiency and be ready to receive a new wave of investment.” in an effort to diversify the supply chain of multinational corporations.

Speaking at the workshop, the Japanese Prime Minister recalled that in November 2021, during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Japan, the two sides launched three initiatives on cooperation in industrial innovation, digital transformation and diversity. supply chain Japan – Vietnam. Since then, the two sides have cooperated more closely on these areas.

Firstly, Vietnam’s supporting industry is a key factor for Japanese enterprises to cooperate and do business effectively in Vietnam. Therefore, the two sides need to cooperate to improve capacity and technology for supporting industries. The agreement on cooperation in engineer training, which has just been exchanged by the two sides during the visit of the Prime Minister of Japan, is expected to contribute to that goal.

Vietnam holds an increasingly important position in the global supply chain. Therefore, out of a total of 92 projects to diversify supply chains supported by Japan in ASEAN, Vietnam ranks first with 39 projects.
