Thousands of tourists and locals participate in experiencing and enjoying unique dishes from many regions across the country at the “Hue – Culinary Capital” Festival.

On the evening of April 30, the “Hue – Culinary Capital” Festival opened at Tu Tuong Park, Hue City. The event was organized by the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province in collaboration with related units.

This is also one of the activities of the Summer Festival – Hue Festival 2022.

On the opening night, thousands of tourists and locals came to participate, experience and enjoy unique dishes and drinks from many regions in the country.


In particular, the food stalls of Hue specialties such as: Chuon village cake, salted rice, lotus tea, Hue beef noodle soup, cakes, jam… have attracted a large number of tourists and people to enjoy.

The stalls introducing delicious dishes from many regions in the country also attract tourists and locals. These are: Cha com ram (Hanoi), spring rolls with gac leaves (Nam Dinh), Son Tra seafood vermicelli and Ngu Hanh Son seafood rolls (Da Nang), Southern fried rice rolls and rolls…. All These dishes are all processed by famous artisans of Hue, Da Nang, Hanoi, Nam Dinh, and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the “Hue – Culinary Capital” Festival, visitors and residents can also directly watch famous culinary artists prepare special dishes. Excellent artist Phan Ton Gia Hien showcases the preparation of spring rolls – cha phuong (a dish modified from ancient Hue royal dishes).


Artisan Le Thi Thiet- President of Nam Dinh Culinary Culture Association together with chef Le Van Khanh demonstrated the processing of a specialty dish of the South, which is spring rolls with gac leaves.

Chefs and teachers at Hue Tourism College demonstrate the preparation of salted rice.

Hue cake artisans demonstrate how to make printed cake, french cake, fruit cake, how to make lotus tea, how to pack five-color cakes…


On May 1, the artisans continued their promotional program to process regional specialties.

Artisans Van Ngoc Thanh and Ly Sanh demonstrated the preparation of Saigon rolls, artisans Pham Long Khanh and Bui Thi Thanh Loan demonstrated the preparation of fried sticky rice, artisans Tran Van Thang and Le Duc Ngoc performed. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee said: “Hue – Culinary Capital” is a meaningful event in the series of Four Seasons Festivals, aiming to promote and introduce the essence of cuisine. Hue as well as other regions in the country to domestic and foreign tourists.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Hue cuisine is very diverse, including royal cuisine, folk cuisine and vegetarian cuisine, contributing to richer cultural traditions of the ancient capital. In the coming time, Thua Thien Hue province will focus on building solutions to turn Hue cuisine into tourism products, aiming to build Hue into the culinary capital of the country.
