Ho Chi Minh City: Proposal to have the title of school psychology consultant

There is no clear payroll and job position, employees psychological counseling have to concurrently take on many other tasks, so it is not possible to concentrate professionally. Schools have a shortage of personnel and it is difficult to recruit, so it is difficult to organize School psychology counseling systematically for students. Ho Chi Minh City has been looking for a solution to solve this problem soon for schools.

As a school psychology consultant for 10 years, Ms. Huong has only been in charge of this job for 2 years, before she had to take on many other jobs in the school. She said that due to lack of this title, it is very difficult for schools to organize a school psychology counseling room.

Many schools in Ho Chi Minh City do not have the title of school psychologist

Nearly 3,000 students, but only 1 school psychology counselor, the school organizes additional classes for students to work as collaborators. At the same time, there are apprentice students to support new students. However, students majoring in psychology are still very confused because they do not have a stable job position.

This issue has been proposed by the Department of Education and Training and professional agencies to the People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City in the past week. Ho Chi Minh City needs to soon have a clear title of a school psychology counselor who can work safely. This recommendation was also made by Ho Chi Minh City during a working session with the Minister of Education and Training.

While waiting for a new decision, schools are still struggling with this work, while students still have unresolved feelings to share with anyone.
