Japan will use flying cars to carry passengers at Osaka Expo 2025
The purpose of the plan is to give international visitors a good impression of the Kansai metropolitan area, including Osaka city and the Seto Sea in western Japan, and create a premise for the use of flying car all over the country.
According to Jiji Press, these flying vehicles will carry passengers between the artificial island of Yumeshima, the venue for the Osaka Expo 2025, and nearby areas such as Kansai International Airport in Osaka Prefecture and Kobe Port in Hyogo Prefecture.
Although there is no clear definition of a flying car, it is a hybrid vehicle between a drone and a helicopter. It can take off and land vertically and is electrically operated.
Currently, developers of flying cars, mainly in Japan, the US and Europe, are creating flying vehicles capable of carrying 2 to 5 people.
