My Dinh Stadium prepares for the opening ceremony of the 31st SEA Games

The entire grass surface on My Dinh yard will be covered with 3 layers of plastic, steel and board formwork. The fact that My Dinh yard is covered with these hard protective layers will definitely affect the grass surface of the field, but this is force majeure because My Dinh yard has to serve for the opening ceremony that will take place on the evening of May 12. . However, the BTC SEA Games 31 was also required to minimize the impact on facilities, especially the pitch.

After the opening day of the congress, all equipment will have to be dismantled immediately to compete in athletics from May 14 to 19 at My Dinh Stadium. On May 22, the final match and the bronze medal match in men’s football will also take place here.

My Dinh Stadium has a capacity of 40,000 seats, but at the opening ceremony, the entire stand B was used as a performance stage. Stands C, D serve as seats for sports delegations to attend the ceremony. Therefore, the organizers only issued about 20,000 invitations for the opening ceremony of the 31st SEA Games and all will be seated at the A. The 31st SEA Games will take place in Hanoi and 11 provinces and cities from December 12 to 23/5. The congress was attended by 11 Southeast Asian sports delegations, organizing 40 competitions with 526 contents.
