The dirtiest places in the house

Most think the bathroom or the door is the dirtiest place in the house. However, dirt and bacteria hide in unexpected places.

Water tap

If you’ve never taken out your faucet to wash it, chances are you’ll find a layer of black scum and mold on the top of the faucet where you drink, cook, and brush your teeth every day.

Once a month, remove the faucet aerator assembly, by turning it counterclockwise, and then soak it in vinegar for at least 15 minutes. Use a toothbrush to gently scrub the parts to remove any residue. Rinse and reinstall as before.

Door handles and switches

Think refrigerator and room door handles, light switches, toilet faucets. These places are extremely dirty but are easily overlooked in the cleaning process because they are small. However, all family members touch these locations every day, so there are many opportunities for bacteria most prolific.

Using a microfiber cloth, dip it in the disinfectant solution and wipe it down. For refrigerator handles, a separate cleaning solution is recommended.

Kitchen cabinets

Some families make dramatic kitchen shelves to avoid dirt. On the contrary, there are houses that leave open shelves and cabinets to ventilate, but also because of that, the top of the shelves hidden from view will become a place to accumulate dust in the house.

Clean regularly with degreasing solutions.

Bathtub

Standing water in the tub after bathing can create an opportunity for mold and staph bacteria to grow.

Please dry the tub or shower surface after each use. Also disinfect frequently, up to three times per week, for tubs used by multiple family members.

Inside the fridge

Containers of food, long-forgotten leftovers, vegetables, raw meat… mixed in one space. The refrigerator is one of the most germ-producing places in the home.

Once a fortnight, take out all the food, remove the shelves to clean in the sink. The rest of the refrigerator should be cleaned with warm water or a special cleaning solution for the refrigerator. After cleaning, install the shelves and return the food to the way it was.

Sink

Because food gets mixed up in a humid environment, a kitchen sink can be dirtier than a toilet seat.

Therefore, not only washing the tub with soap after one use, but requiring a more intensive cleaning. Use a special solution or baking soda with vinegar every week to clean the sink. After washing, it should be dry, clean and protect the tub more durable.

Toilet wall

A humid environment is a breeding ground for mold. Just notice that after a few days of moisture, your bathroom wall has black mold.

To clean, spray soap or detergent on the wall, leave for a few minutes, and then scrub again.

Remote control

Few homes pay attention to cleaning the remote. Items used daily have accumulated dirt over the years, making them one of the most bacteria-laden items in the home.

Use disinfectant wipes to clean the remote. Use a cotton swab to brush over the buttons to remove dirt.
