Two major Argentine banks have just allowed crypto trading right on their platforms.

Banco Galicia – the country’s largest private bank by market capitalization – and digital bank Brubank SAU have just allowed customers to trade cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ether and USDC.

This comes from the increasing demand for cryptocurrency transactions of the people of this country. In a customer survey of Banco Galicia, 60% of the participants, especially the younger group, wanted the bank to support the service to make it easier to access cryptocurrencies.

Previously, Argentinians could only buy cryptocurrencies through wallets or directly from holders. However, through a partnership with the Lirium crypto wallet, customers of the two banks will now be able to trade cryptocurrencies through a platform supported by the bank, previously popular for buying bonds or stocks. promissory note.

Argentina is an increasingly Bitcoin-friendly country. The country is among the top 10 countries in the world with the highest acceptance of cryptocurrencies, according to specialized website Chainalysis.

In August 2021, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez, when asked if he should follow the path of El Salvador – recognizing Bitcoin as currency – said that “Argentina is not in a hurry but also does not reject the idea of ​​​​the idea. this”.
