Birth tree ‘Dai The Van Tung’ with a pot inlaid with gold, priced at 20 billion by Nam Dinh artisans

The bonsai exhibition at Bach Thuan garden village (Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province) took place from April 29 to May 3, attracting the participation of many bonsai-loving artisans across the country.

Prominent at this exhibition is the birth work called Dai The Van Tung, which is considered unique in Vietnam.

Dai The Van Tung tree was sent by the owner, Mr. Phan Van Thai (owner of Van Thai garden, Dien Xa commune, Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province) at a friend’s garden house in Bach Thuan commune for care and convenience. move.

Talking to VTC News on the morning of May 1, Mr. Thai said that his work Dai The Van Tung has a lifespan of about 75 years, which he bought 3 years ago from a gardener in Thai Binh. This birth tree has a height of 3.6m, a width of 2.9m. For many years now, the tree has been famous in the bonsai village of the country.

Analyzing more closely his tens of billions of works, Mr. Thai said that the reason for naming it Dai The Van Tung because “great world” is just a large and tall bonsai. Besides, the flowers and tree canopy are likened to flying clouds, so in the name there is an additional word “van”. Finally, the whole tree has a proud and straight posture like a cypress tree, so the last letter of his name adds the word “tung”.

In addition to the beautiful name above, this work has another name that many bonsai lovers know, which is the “golden pot” tree. Because in addition to its beauty, the work also sits on a tank inlaid by Mr. Thai with more than 5 9999 gold trees with a total value of a few years ago up to 185 million VND. Currently, this gold-plated tank is still attached to the tree.

Currently, Mr. Thai plans to display the tree at Bach Thuan’s bonsai exhibition for another 5 days before bringing it back to his friend’s garden.

“Before the tree was brought to the exhibition, its value was about 20 billion VND. Since the exhibition day, many people have called to ask and bid, but I still have not found someone who wants to buy the desired tree. The value of the tree will continue to increase over time“, said Thai.

Also according to Mr. Thai, he probably won’t sell his work to the highest bidder. Because to him, in addition to the economic value, the work Dai Dai Van Tung also has the value of time and art. As the owner, he considers it as his jewel, his brainchild. I hope someone will understand about trees and really love my work: “It is like a treasure, if we give it to someone who does not understand and care for it, its value will be lost. It takes decades, even a lifetime, to have such a work, I want whoever owns it to really love and cherish it.”

In addition to the work Dai The Van Tung, at his garden house in Dien Xa bonsai village (Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province), Mr. Thai displays passionate works, which are also considered unique in Vietnam such as trees. Tung Kim is 365 years old and he makes a family tree certification; Nam Dien birth tree has the shape of Long Thang (a flying dragon) 65 years old, worth 12 billion VND.
