Old iPhone users are miserable because of Apple’s latest announcement

According to news from the Daily Star, Apple is in the process of preparing for the launch of the 2022 generation iPhone. When the iPhone 14 series is released, some devices will no longer be sold by Apple. Many older iPhone models will become obsolete, no longer able to be updated and repaired. At the same time, Apple also said that it will stop providing repair services for these outdated devices.

Previously, in February, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad 4 2014 and Mac Mini 2012 were included in Apple’s list of classic devices, stopping support for all hardware-related services.

Apple’s classic product listings are for devices released more than 5 years and less than 7 years after the initial introduction. Apple will provide service and parts for classic devices for up to 7 years or as required by law, but repairs are subject to component availability.

The iPhones included in the classic product include: iPhone 4 (8GB), iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6 Plus.

Meanwhile, Apple’s list of obsolete products are devices that are 7 years old from when it is no longer on the market. Outdated products will not guarantee the survival of components, they will no longer be repairable through official channels. If there is a problem with outdated devices, the only way is for the user to contact third-party repairers if spare parts are available, although not original.
