People jostled to buy tickets to watch U23 Vietnam kick the 31st SEA Games

At 8:00 a.m. on May 3, the Organizing Committee sold tickets directly at the Phu Tho Provincial Gymnasium for qualifying matches in Group A of SEA Games 31 men’s football (with prices of 200,000 VND/ticket, 300,000 VND) /ticket and 500,000 VND/ticket) and semi-final (300,000 VND/ticket, 400,000 VND/ticket and 600,000 VND/ticket). Each citizen is allowed to buy up to 2 tickets/match day (including 2 matches) but is entitled to buy all rounds of the group stage and semi-final at the same time.

The stadium where the 31st SEA Games men’s football will take place has a capacity of just over 16,000 seats. The organizers prioritized to spend a large amount to sell tickets directly to the audience. Only a small number of sales are available by mail and online. Tickets issued to agencies will have their own codes so that if the tickets appear on the black market, the organizers will know which units are smuggled out for timely handling.

Due to the small number of tickets, right from the night of May 2, there were many fans lining up to wait to buy tickets. Near the time when BTC opened ticket sales, there was a situation of jostling and jostling. Many old people, women and children were pushed to the point of suffocation.

As planned, U23 Vietnam will meet U23 Indonesia at 19:00 on May 6. On May 8, U23 Vietnam will meet U23 Philippines. On May 13, U23 Vietnam will play against U23 Myanmar. The last match of U23 Vietnam in the group stage was against U23 Timor Leste on May 15.
