Toyota Raize is recalled in Vietnam because of an error that can cause the car to collapse
According to information from the Registry, Toyota Vietnam recalled 191 Toyota Raize units imported from Indonesia. All of the above vehicles have been sold on the market.
Accordingly, Toyota Raize (type number A250LA-GBVVF) with production period from March 29, 2021 to October 8, 2021 will have to be recalled to repair the front shock absorber mounting joint.
The shock absorber is a part located in the engine compartment, which has the function of mounting / holding the upper end of the front shock absorber assembly to lift the vehicle load on the front wheels as well as contribute to the guidance of the steering system. On vehicles in the affected range, when the wheel is subjected to a strong impact such as when the vehicle passes through speed bumps, the welds of these two mounds can be removed.
If the above phenomenon occurs, customers may hear abnormal noises in the area where the front shock absorber is installed during vehicle use. In the worst case scenario, the vehicle can crash, causing loss of control and affecting the safety of the driver and passengers.
The recall will be made free of charge at authorized Toyota dealers and service stations nationwide from May 4, 2022 (and is expected to last until May 4, 2025), with the processing time running out. from 7 – 24 hours for each vehicle.
Toyota Raize opened for sale in Vietnam in October last year with 1 version priced at 527 million VND. This model has just increased its selling price by 20 million dong from May 1. Raize is considered one of Toyota’s “trumps” in the Vietnamese market this year, competing with rivals in the urban SUV segment, which has been very popular in the market in the past few years.
However, due to a shortage of parts, the number of cars sold each month is still quite modest. Last March, Raize recorded sales of 688 vehicles, an increase of 200 vehicles compared to February. Accumulating from the beginning of the year, 1,671 vehicles have been sold to the market.
Earlier in March, Toyota had to recall 14,777 Raize vehicles in Indonesia for the same error.
