Ukraine does not conduct military operations in Russian territory

According to Zelensky, this conflict is limited to Ukraine’s territory and does not extend to Russia, and stressed that the Ukrainian army will not conduct military operations on Russian territory.

In mid-April, after Russian authorities accused Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopters of attacking an oil field in Belgorod, Russia, Ukrainian President Zelensky refused to directly answer a question whether the planes were drones. Meanwhile, on April 29, in the Bryansk region, located north of the Chernigov and Sumy regions of Ukraine, the Belaya Berezka border checkpoint was shelled but there were no casualties, the governor of this region said. . The next day, the governor said that the region’s air defenses prevented Ukrainian air force planes from entering Russian territory.

On May 1, the Governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit said that the railway bridge in the region had partially collapsed due to sabotage.

A similar incident took place in Russia’s Belgorod region, near Kharkov in Ukraine, where explosions were recorded on the night of May 2 but no casualties. Later, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed the explosions were not caused by attacks from Ukraine.
