The reason for the decision to switch is because selling lychees according to standards, the price will be 30% higher than the price of mass-grown litchi, moreover, there is no need to worry about the output. Businesses will go to the garden to buy quickly and neatly.

“Cleaning litchi requires no intercropping and not many people live in order to achieve the goal,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Son, Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province.

As for Mr. Men’s family, after successfully cultivating clean litchi in the first year, this year he plans to expand by 10 hectares and raise the standard from GlobalGAP to organic. According to him, such an expansion can meet the needs of fabric exporters to Japan or the EU. Currently, litchi has just produced fruit, but has almost been consumed.

“This year, I don’t have to worry about output because many big companies want to order now,” said Vu Van Men, Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province.

To encourage people to switch to litchi cultivation according to GlobalGAP standards, Luc Ngan district has many supports for farmers.

“The district supports 100% of the fee for spraying by drones, the lack of lychee code is exported to Japan. The district also supports 50% of plant protection drugs,” said Mr. Nguyen The Thi, Vice Chairman of the District People’s Committee. Luc Ngan, Bac Giang province, said.

Luc Ngan district aims to increase production in difficult markets such as Japan and the EU, increasing by about 10% this year. Therefore, right from the beginning of this year’s lychee crop, the locality has actively increased the expansion of many hectares of high-quality lychee.
