Google adds some cool travel support features

This summer will probably be very special for many people as they prepare for their first big vacation in several years.

To help users with travel planning, the tech giant is rolling out a number of helpful travel-enabled updates including flight price tracking and a hotel finder feature, according to Engadget.

If you already know where you want to go and have flexible travel dates, then these features are for you. Google Flights will allow users to track flight prices between the two cities for up to six months.

If you find that fares are lower than usual during that time, you’ll receive an email notification. Google has long allowed people to track flights between two airports for specific dates, but this new update is especially useful for long-haul trips where fares can be much more expensive depending on the date of flight. .

Once you know the time and destination, you will need a place to stay and the company will also add some hotel related features to solve this problem.

If you’re traveling with an event like a conference or wedding, Google will help you find nearby accommodation with this feature.

Starting May 3, Google will show properties that are within a 15- or 30-minute walk or drive of the main event. New map filters can also help you find great sightseeing, dining or shopping options in your vicinity.

Similarly, the “Explore” option will show “Explore Nearby” with filters for locations that are close and easily driveable. It will show important details like weather and average hotel price. That can help you plan a much-needed weekend getaway.

In addition, the company updated a new bookmark icon for hotels and motels to help users save them. This feature comes in handy when you want to discuss your trip and where to eat and sleep with your travel companion. Saved information can be viewed through the right panel on a computer or by accessing the “Saved” tab on a mobile device.
