Google announced the death of YouTube Go

YouTube Go is an application that is part of Google’s Android Go software package – developed to be compatible with Android devices with limited hardware.

Android Go brings users a full range of convenient services from Google, including Google Maps Go, Gallery Go, Google Go, YouTube Go… These applications have all been omitted some features to optimize and limit Maximize capacity for devices with limited memory.

However, Google seems to be wanting to end this package. Instead, the search giant will give preference to apps with higher compatibility, suitable for most Android devices today.

In fact, today’s low-profile smartphones can all meet the hardware requirements of applications from Google. Therefore, continuing to deploy the YouTube Go service at this time is considered unnecessary.

It can be seen that, in addition to solving problems related to compatibility and access, Google also seems to want more users to experience the full version of YouTube instead of a shortened version.

According to the search giant’s announcement, YouTube Go will officially stop working in August 2022. Google has not yet given a specific shutdown date for this service.
