North Korea launched an unidentified flying object

Japanese Deputy Defense Minister Oniki said that the flying object of North Korea reached a maximum altitude of about 800km and flew about 500km before crashing into the sea outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

The South Korean military also made a similar comment, saying the launch was carried out by North Korea from a location near Sunan airport in the capital Pyongyang.

This latest launch comes about a week after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said the country would boost its nuclear capabilities “at the fastest possible pace”.

This is North Korea’s 14th launch of a flying object since the beginning of the year.
