Spotify joins metaverse with Spotify Island on Roblox

According to Engadget, there are many companies that have entered the metaverse in different ways. And a big name just made its new move, Spotify announced it has stepped in world virtual through an interactive space on Roblox called Spotify Island. This is a new setting that allows users to create music, relax in virtual venues, and gain access to exclusive virtual items.

Spotify has brought to the island Spotify Island Their design has a green design as the main color, similar to the usual icon of a music player. This symbol is also part of the game, you can collect heart shaped ‘Like’ symbols for free merchandise. Speaking of digital items, Spotify says that the exclusive virtual goods in the game will give artists an opportunity to connect with fans and also be a way to earn extra money. The company explained that a portion of the revenue will go to the artists.

Main quests on Spotify Island is to hang out with artists, complete quests, and access exclusive content. The company said it has brought into the virtual world a lot of Easter eggs for users to find during the experience. Creative enthusiasts can also create their own music and sounds through beat-maker stations powered by Soundtrap, the streaming recording platform Spotify acquired in 2017.

Spotify says K-Park, its first ‘themed experience’, will launch in a few weeks. K-Park will give users the ability to interact with artists Stray Kids and SUNMI of K-Pop. And users don’t have to wait until K-Park launches to be able to shop for virtual goods. The items of SUNMI will be on sale from May 3, and items for Stray Kids coming soon.
