The iPad line that is still selling well in Vietnam is listed by Apple as “antiques”
Recently, Apple has added two iPad models, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 to its “classic” product list.
Released in October 2014 and November 2013, respectively, the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 have been around for about 8 years so far and have been discontinued for quite some time. According to Apple’s regulations, a product will be considered “antique” after 5 years from the time of last sale.
iPad Air 2 is the first iPad model with Touch ID fingerprint sensor. In addition, it is also the first iPad model to be equipped with an Apple A8X chip, 2GB of RAM and an impressive thickness of only 6.1mm. It’s also worth noting that the iPad Air 2 is still running the latest iOS version, iOS 15 – whether it will be supported in the next iOS 16 version is still a mystery.
Meanwhile, the iPad mini 2 is the first iPad mini model with a high-resolution Retina display. It is equipped with Apple A7 chip and 1GB RAM, equivalent to an iPhone 5s. Unlike iPad Air 2, iPad mini 2 has stopped at iOS 12 version, released in 2018.
Despite their long age, the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 still have a foothold in the used iPad market in Vietnam thanks to their relatively accessible prices. Currently, iPad Air 2 is priced at about 5 million VND, while iPad mini 2 is about 3 million VND.
In particular, iPad Air 2 is a model that is especially popular in Vietnam because of its large screen, thin and light design and still runs the latest iOS version. Especially in the past time when studying and meeting online has become the throne, many people have chosen to buy iPad Air 2 to use software like Zoom.
