The Ukrainian military said it used drones to attack the positions of Russian forces on the island of Zmiinyi in the Black Sea.
The Army’s Southern Operations Command Ukraine on May 3 published a video showing a Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacking an area near a communication tower with what appeared to be an ammunition depot. This force said these are the two positions of the force Russia on the island of Zmiinyi in the Black Sea.

The Ukrainian military did not specify when the raid took place. CNN located the location in the video and its authenticity.
Russia has not commented on this information. On April 26, the Ukrainian military also announced a raid on a Russian checkpoint and air defense system on the island of Zmiinyi.
Bayraktar TB2 UAV is produced by Turkey and supplied to Ukraine. This UAV model has a wingspan of 12 m, can carry 55 kg of weapons and is capable of 27 hours of continuous operation at a distance of 300 km from the control station.
Bayraktar TB2 is also equipped with MAM-L laser-guided missiles with 4 types of warheads with a maximum mass of 22 kg, considered the top threat to tanks and armor on the battlefield.
Zmiinyi Island has an area of about 17 hectares, located on the Black Sea, about 35 km from the coast of Oddessa. Before the war, the Ukrainian border guards stationed a garrison of about 100 border guards to protect the island.
Immediately after launching a special military operation to “demilitarize and de-fascist Ukraine” on February 24, Russia sent a warship close to Zmiinyy island and asked the defense forces there to surrender. The Ukrainian border guards then announced that Russia had taken control of Zmiinyy island, the infrastructure on the island was destroyed after air strikes and shelling.
The Ukrainian side believes that all soldiers on the island of Zmiinyy were killed in a fight with Russia. However, the Russian Ministry of Defense then video announcement shows 82 Ukrainian soldiers on the island of Zmiinyy surrendering their weapons. These soldiers were brought by Russia to the port of Sevastopol in Crimea and returned to Ukraine later.
