US warns of new COVID-19 outbreak

This is the warning of Dr. Deborah Birx – former coordinator of the White House COVID-19 Task Force, after seeing a recent increase in infections in South Africa.

Birx said that the decline in natural immunity has been large enough in the general population that a significant increase in the number of new COVID-19 cases will occur again in four to six months.

America needs to prepare now for a summer surge across southern states.

The warning comes after South Africa recently saw a significant increase in the number of COVID-19 infections.

The Omicron variant was first detected in the country late last year.
