According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the General Department of Tourism, during the 4 days of public holiday (from April 30, 2022 to May 3, 2022), the tourism industry has served about 5 million domestic tourists, in There are about 2 million visitors staying overnight at tourist accommodation establishments. This year’s 30/4-1/5 holiday is longer than usual (4 days), again at the beginning of summer, suitable for family outings, group gatherings, etc., has created favorable conditions. good for tourism to restart. Localities across the country have strengthened links; building new tourism products, renovating the space at accommodation establishments and tourist attractions to attract tourists.

Some provinces/cities have met and exceeded the target of serving tourists compared to the same period in 2021. Hanoi serves more than 550,000 visitors, total revenue from tourists is estimated at over 1,500 billion VND. The average occupancy rate is over 42.2%. In particular, the number of tourists visiting tourist attractions and areas during the 4 holidays has a strong growth estimated at 250% over the same period in 2021.

Ho Chi Minh City serves 620,000 visitors; Room capacity reaches 65%-70%, total revenue from guests reaches VND 1,610 billion.

Meanwhile, the number of international tourists to some key tourist destinations increased over the same period last year. Specifically, Da Nang has welcomed 18 international flights from Singapore, Thailand, and South Korea, the total number of international visitors reached about 7,400, an increase of nearly 16 times over the same period in 2021.

As for the outbound tour, which has now also begun to be selected by tourists, the most popular market for tourists is Dubai, UAE (March 2022 reached more than 2,000 guests, total March 3-4// 2022 about 5,000 guests). Other markets all started to reopen from mid and late April 2022, so not many customers ordered. For example: Thailand, Singapore, EU… are still mainly business travelers combined with tourism.

Leaders of the tourism industry recorded the recovery, a good sign of the tourism industry after reopening. However, tourism during the past holiday also revealed inadequacies and limitations in the quality of services, products and human resources; There is still a serious shortage of human resources in the tourism industry. Due to urgent recruitment and partly from untrained locals, the quality of service has not really met the needs of tourists.
