Ancelotti cries after Real’s comeback

SpainCoach Carlo Ancelotti could not hold back his emotions after Real defeated Man City on May 4 to reach the Champions League final.

After the final whistle of the semi-final second leg, Carlo Ancelotti started crying. The 62-year-old coach hugged his assistant, son Davide Ancelotti, with tears in his eyes.

In the semi-final second leg on May 4, Real beat Man City 3-1thereby reaching the final with a total score of 6-5.

But before enjoying the joy of winning the final, Real spent 90 tense minutes with Man City. The away team opened the scoring in the 73rd minute, thanks to Riyad Mahrez’s shot into the near corner, and also increased the final score to 5-3.

Real only really revived when the match entered the last minutes. After Rodrygo’s two consecutive equalizers in the 90th and 90+1 minutes, the second leg had to kick in two extra time. In the 95th minute, Karim Benzema successfully kicked the penalty that brought Real into the final Champions League.
