Fighting, shooting in the night in Hanoi, 1 person was shot down

Today (May 5), the Hanoi People’s Court brought the defendants Nguyen Van Ninh (SN 1988), Nguyen Trong Toan (SN 1992, both in Soc Son), Nguyen Danh Nam (SN 1997), Nguyen The Chuc (SN 1992). 1997, both in Bac Giang) were tried for murder and illegal possession of military weapons.

Regarding the case, the defendants Ta Van Chung (SN 1985, in Soc Son) was tried for the crime of illegal possession of military weapons; Ta Van Sung (SN 1988), Ha Ngoc Toan (SN 1998) and Nguyen Van Thai (SN 1995, both in Soc Son) were tried for causing public disorder.

Before that, in 2019, Ninh bought 1 gun and 2 bullets and gave it to Chung to keep.

Because before that, there was a conflict between Ninh and Sung, so around 9pm on January 5, 2021, Sung called Ninh on the phone. Words back and forth, the two sides continued to quarrel and challenge each other.

At this time, Ninh is at a karaoke bar in Tuyen village, Dong Xuan commune, Soc Son district with Nam and Chuc, Toan and some other subjects. Sung is staying with Thai at Thai’s billiards bar in Xuan Bach village, Quang Tien commune, Soc Son district.

Before meeting, Ninh prepared 2 guns. Meanwhile, Thai’s group called more Ha Ngoc Toan and prepared knives and iron tubes with pig launchers attached.

After preparing the weapon, Ninh and Sung continued to curse each other over the phone and made an appointment to go to Ap Cut intersection to fight.

Around 11 pm on January 5, 2021, Sung drove a motorbike carrying Thai and Ha Ngoc Toan to the junction of Ap Cut village, Mai Dinh commune to wait for Ninh’s group.

Arriving at the place, Sung set up a motorbike on the side of the road, Thai held a machete and stood on the opposite side of the road, and Ha Ngoc Toan set up a weapon to stand next to Sung to “welcome the war”.

At this time, Nam drove Chuc to the junction of provincial road 131 and saw Sung standing by the roadside. The two sides clashed with each other. Chuc held the gun to shoot Sung, but because the trigger missed, the gun did not explode. The second shot, Chuc shot 1 shot in the left chest, causing Thai to collapse on the road.

After causing the shooting, Chuc gave the gun to Nam to hide and then fled.

Due to timely emergency treatment, Nguyen Van Thai did not die, but suffered health damage with an injury rate of 47%.

After considering, the jury sentenced Ninh and Chuc to 16 years in prison each for murder. In addition, these two defendants also received 18 and 16 months in prison, respectively, for illegal possession of military weapons.

Defendants Nam and Toan received 14 years in prison for murder. These two defendants received 15 and 18 months in prison, respectively, for illegal possession of military weapons.

The other defendants received sentences of between 24 and 30 months in prison.
