First-year students are “shocked” to hear that their graduate salary is only 7 million/month, netizens argue fiercely

In the past few days, netizens have been stirred up by the sharing of a student who expressed disappointment at the starting salary of only 7 million VND/month after graduation.

On social media, a student shared the following: “Brothers and sisters, is it true that after graduating from school, the salary of 7 million?

I’m in my freshman year, about to enter my 2nd year of college. My academic strength is also average, but I think that after graduating, I will have a higher salary than other schools.

Suddenly, people say that after graduating from school, the salary is only 7-8 million but I feel so sad, is it worth 4-5 years of college, costing a few hundred million of my parents? At least, recruiters have to look at the candidate’s profile to see which schools are potential and which schools are not?

I just hope that going to a famous university will have a bright future, but watching my brothers and sisters go to school to work and tell stories, I feel so pessimistic.”

The student’s sharing lines immediately attracted the attention of netizens and created a heated controversy. Some people think that 4-5 years of university education costs hundreds of millions but the starting salary of 7 million / month is not appropriate. But some people think that what fresh graduates need is experience, learning experience, not talking about how much salary because sometimes fresh graduates are accepted by businesses is already lucky.

Reader Minh Hieu said: “Currently, graduates still lack the necessary skills and experience, forcing businesses to carry out more training programs. Therefore, just holding a university degree in hand but someone giving the opportunity to rub, experience and learn is lucky and then ask for a higher salary, it is difficult to understand.”

Many people share the same opinion that today, the common thought of fresh graduates is that they all want to find a high-paying job and dream about the future. However, if you are really good, you should work for a few months to self-assess your strength and affirm your value to the business. If you work well, you have the right to ask for a high salary and then the business is also ready to respond, but complaining is not helpful.

Contrary to this opinion, some people believe that good students, especially those who graduate from top universities, can absolutely claim a commensurate salary because they just need to earn 7 million to graduate. is not reasonable.

Perhaps, this debate will be difficult to come to an end, because in fact, the ideal salary depends on many other factors such as the nature of the job, skills, experience as well as the values that the employee has. can bring to the business that I join.

Sharing his views on the starting salary for students, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Hung – Director of Hung Nga Computer Co., Ltd (Hanoi) said: “During my 3rd year of university, I went everywhere with my friends. I hope to apply for a “leg” to work in companies specializing in software, import and export of computers, but after searching for 5 months, there is only one company that accepts me as part time (part-time – PV) as an apprentice and every month I only get a support of 200,000 for petrol and no salary.

After earning my university degree, I continued to look for opportunities at reputable companies in the hope of acquiring skills in the information technology industry that as a college graduate I had nothing but theory.

And now after 10 years when I have a self-founded company, I see that a recent graduate, without practical experience, a salary of about 7-8 million VND a month is also high.

Because, new graduates often have not forged professionalism and soft skills at work. So the work efficiency is not high, not to mention it takes time to hold hands, just for you.

There are fresh graduate students recruited into my company, they work a day, sometimes as much as I do in 1 hour, even doing it wrong.

I just want to remind you that students should not be too confident in their own abilities, do not be too delusional when just walking out of the university gate. Just graduated from school, don’t ask for income, but study and make your own experience thick because of the fact that there are many things in work that you can’t do well by studying well.

If you want a higher salary, students should try to hone their skills, then confidently apply for higher positions, the salary will be high. Now everywhere, the income will be commensurate with what you spend.

It is impossible to say that you have a good degree, but you can’t do a job that requires a high salary. Let’s just start from a low amount that the business pays, what you need when you graduate from school is experience, when improving your professional skills, communication, foreign languages.. businesses welcome you with a decent salary”.
