At more than 8pm on May 4, the bus with Hanoi license plate of Ha Son – Hai Van Transport Co., Ltd. went on the Hanoi – Lao Cai highway towards Hanoi, when it arrived at Tan Thuong commune, Van Ban district (Lao Cai). ) is on fire.
A witness said, the car was moving when a loud bang came from the rear, the driver braked sharply, then pulled the car into the emergency lane, opening the door for the passengers to get out. “We got out about 15 minutes, moved some furniture, then the fire broke out and spread to the whole car,” the witness said.

The expressway management unit then coordinated with the Bao Thang District Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team to bring vehicles to fight the fire and divert traffic. At 9 p.m., the fire was extinguished, but the bus frame was completely burned.
After the fire, some passengers took another bus to return to Hanoi. Ha Son – Hai Van garage also sent a car to take the remaining passengers to continue the journey.
