Rare image of Russian BM-27 cannon firing in Ukraine

Video posted by the Voenhronika.ru news site on the night of May 3 shows that the BM-27 rocket artillery crews of the Russian artillery force are stationed in a forest in Kharkiv province in eastern Ukraine.
Before firing, one soldier of the combat crew used a measuring device to determine the coordinates of the target, while the remaining soldiers adjusted the direction and angle of fire of the gun barrel mounted on the truck.
The BM-27 Uragan ‘Rain’ is a multiple rocket launcher designed by the Soviet Union and put into service in the army in the late 1970s. The total tonnage of the BM-27, including the truck and the gun mount, is 20 ton; 9.63m long; 2.8 wide; 3.23m high. Team of 4 people including commander, gunner, driver and soldier in charge of measuring target coordinates.
The BM-27 uses a ZiL-135LMP truck chassis equipped with two ZiL-375 engines with 180 horsepower each. Thanks to that, the vehicle speed can reach 65 km / h in flat terrain and the range is 500 km.
According to Military Today, the time to switch from marching mode to ready to fire takes about 12 minutes. After firing the missile, the crew needed about 3 minutes to leave the firing position.
In order to increase the combat capability of the Uragan cannon on the battlefield, Soviet military scientists have built a series of 9M27F, 9M27K1, 9M27K2, 9M27K3 and 9M59 rockets containing high explosives, anti-tank mines, cluster bombs…
