On this occasion, Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Grete Lochen and Senior Vice President of Equinor, Mr. Jens Olaf Okland jointly organized the Opening Ceremony of Equinor’s office with the participation of representatives of relevant agencies. sectors of Vietnam such as the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV), the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands (VASI), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) Vietnam, representatives of Vietnamese and Norwegian businesses, and many other guests.

Opening the event, Ambassador Grete Lochen said “Renewable energy and climate are the top priorities of the Norwegian Government. – Developing Vietnam’s wind power industry by successfully implementing offshore wind power projects

– Improve capacity and professional qualifications in the country

– Building a strong domestic supply chain of the offshore wind power industry

– Create more skilled jobs in the country

– Produce electricity at a lower cost

– Gradually make renewable energy affordable for all; and support Vietnam in implementing its green transition agenda as well as its international commitments on climate and environment.

Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy General Director of PetroVietnam said that “PVN and Equinor have many similarities: they are both state-owned oil and gas groups and both want to transform into an energy group. We highly appreciate it. Equinor’s reputation, experience as well as capacity, and technology in this transition.
