US general reveals ‘worst mistake’ that made Russia difficult in the war in Ukraine

According to Fox News, General Hilbert is the commander of the 7th Army Training Command of the US military stationed in Germany.

General Hilbert argued that Russia’s mistake before the special military operation in Kiev was to reveal its intentions early and give Ukraine “eight years to prepare” for the ongoing offensive.

“The worst thing the Russians did was give us eight years to prepare,” General Hilbert told Fox News.

The US general said that Ukraine has participated in more than a dozen major exercises with US troops in Germany since 2015.”

“Ukrainian soldiers are very motivated, they are very professional,” General Hilbert said, adding that the US is currently training 50-60 Ukrainian soldiers on how to operate the M777 howitzer in Grafenwoehr, Germany. The US has sent M777 howitzers to the Ukrainian military to assist the country in its fight against Russia.

General Hilbert also said the US has trained more than 23,000 members of the Ukrainian armed forces from 17 different battalions and 11 brigades, spending a total of $126 million on the program.

He further revealed that the US is planning to have Ukrainian troops lead a divisional exercise before more than 160 Florida National Guard troops withdraw from Ukraine in February, days before Russia launches. Special military operation in Ukraine.
