US – Japan strengthen strategic cooperation

The defense ministers of Japan and the United States yesterday agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries to prevent any attempt to change the status quo by force in the Indo-Pacific region.

During talks at the Pentagon, Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi and his host country counterpart Lloyd Austin expressed concern about the current world situation, including concerns related to order. and attempts to change the status quo in the Indo-Pacific region.

Also during the talks, the two sides discussed aid to Ukraine as well as the threat from North Korea. Especially in the context that since the beginning of the year, Pyongyang has conducted 14 tests of new weapons, including ballistic missiles.
