All 17 Metro trains No. 1 were present in Ho Chi Minh City
On May 6, the Management Board of Metro Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien (MAUR) said that trains 16 and 17 are the last two of 17 trains that have been imported to Vietnam.
Thus, all 17 trains were present in Ho Chi Minh City to be ready for trial operation in the near future.
The last two trains will dock at Khanh Hoi port (District 4) at 10:00 on the same day.

Previously, in January 2015, the train model arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and was displayed at the Depot area for public opinion. After receiving public comments, Hitachi finalized the detailed design and began production.
On October 9, 2020, the first train with 3 carriages arrived in Ho Chi Minh City. Then in May, June, July, December 2021, trains No. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 10, 11 were brought back. By March and May 2022, the last trains were brought to Ho Chi Minh City.
Each train has 3 cars, 61.5 m long, can carry 930 passengers
Regarding the import of trains, in order to successfully import the last 2 trains (16 and 17) of the Project as at present, relevant parties such as competent authorities (Customs, Border Guard, Port…), transportation units, Hitachi Contractors, sub-contractors and the Owner have experienced a difficult period in 2021 when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out strongly, but still coordinate to find possible solutions to overcome difficulties to ensure the successful import progress of 17 trains with a total of 51 carriages to Ho Chi Minh City and to the project.
According to MAUR, the construction project of Urban Railway Line No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City has achieved 90.5% of the total project volume.
