When the Phu My town government coerced, the landowners on the land filled the road to cope.

After that, the People’s Committee of Toc Tien commune in turn coerced and asked the landowner to tear down the road and return it to its original state. “Recently, the land in the locality has become hot again, they have cleared the land to create a road again,” said Mr. Ly, adding that the total area of ​​the land plots illegally opened was more than 220,000 square meters.

In order to prevent it completely, the People’s Committee of Phu My town requested that when dismantling, the plastic mats should be scratched and transported to another place to avoid the landowner sneaking into the roadway again. “Because Toc Tien commune officials at that time did not fully understand, improperly applied the law, leading to many cases of illegal road construction,” said Nguyen Van Tham, Chairman of Phu My town’s People’s Committee.

According to Mr. Tham, the town will clarify the responsibilities of Toc Tien commune officials, and at the same time offer solutions to prevent violations in the land sector. In any area where a violation occurs, the local head will be handled.

A series of agricultural land in Toc Tien, Chau Pha, My Xuan communes… were opened by individuals and businesses, pulled electricity poles, and sold lots for several billion dong each. In 2019, according to local statistics, there were 113 “ghost projects” of large and small scale that were coerced and dismantled by the Phu My town government.
