After nearly 20 months of construction, Ong Dien bridge (Nguyen Huy Hieu bridge) across Co Co river connecting Da Nang and Hoi An city (Quang Nam) has just been technical traffic and put into operation.
This is a meaningful work to contribute to the connection of transport infrastructure and socio-economic development between Quang Nam province and Da Nang city in the context that the two localities share the same Co Co river.
Ong Dien Bridge is a grade II bridge work. This is an item in the construction bidding package of the project of dredging, emergency flood drainage and combating saltwater intrusion of the Co Co river through Dien Ban town and Hoi An city.
This project has a total capital of more than 300 billion dong, invested by the Quang Nam Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, started on July 30, 2020.
The bridge is designed with a length of 242.4m, a cross section of 20.5m .
The bridge has mixed cable girder structure, prestressed reinforced concrete diagram. The railing is 1m high, the margin is 2m wide to ensure the safety of vehicles when participating in traffic
The bridge is designed with a mixed cable girder (Extradosed) with main pillars on the river with a cable-stayed system to support the girder.
Ong Dien Bridge has a typical architectural design idea, with the highlight seen from a distance like two sails reaching out in the middle of the Co Co river.
The bridge has 4 lanes
The lights on the bridge are also designed specifically to create accents
The path to the bridge is 493 m long, 11.5 m wide, including the road surface 10.5 m wide and the curb 0.5 m wide on each side.
The path is planted with many trees to create a green – clean – beautiful landscape
Currently, environmental workers are installing an automatic watering system for trees at the path to the bridge
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang – Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee, the technical clearance of Ong Dien bridge has contributed to promoting economic development between Quang Nam and Da Nang when they jointly own the Co Co river flowing through.
This is considered one of the most beautiful bridges in Quang Nam at the moment
As soon as the bridge is completed, this bridge has received high appreciation from the government and people for its aesthetic value, promising to become a new symbol of Quang Nam.
This bridge also plays an important role in connecting traffic to transport people and tourists in and out between Da Nang and Hoi An through the coastal tourist route DT 603B.
