Gymnastics teacher accused of kissing a female student’s forehead and touching her back

Ho Chi Minh CityGymnastics teacher at Thanh My Loi Secondary School was suspended from work for 15 days after being accused of “touching” the body of a 7/1 female student.

The decision was made by Thanh My Loi Secondary School on May 6 after parents complained about the teacher’s behavior, which took place on the afternoon of April 29. Accordingly, while looking after the class according to the duties of the homeroom teacher, this teacher called a group of students to the supervisor’s room to review, including a female student.

On May 4, parents came to the school to work with the Board of Directors. Principal Dinh Kim Quy said that the school had received complaints and reported it to the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City. “The school is currently holding an examination for the second semester. After the exam is over, we continue to solve the problem,” Ms. Quy said.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc, informed that the decision to suspend the teacher was to verify the incident. In addition to related parties, the school also invited the police to work. If the teacher is at fault, depending on the degree, the school will handle it according to the regulations of the education industry and regulations on management of officials.

Mr. Nguyen said he had received reports from the school and the teacher. However, the matter is in the process of being verified, so he declined to provide details.
