The number of new COVID-19 cases in Shanghai has decreased continuously since April 22. Currently, the city’s epidemic prevention and control situation is considered to have improved and the disease has been effectively controlled. However, city officials also emphasized that there was still a risk of the epidemic resurgence and Shanghai could not yet abandon the “No COVID” strategy.

Currently, more than 2 million Shanghai residents are still in high-risk areas and under lockdown. Yesterday, the city recorded more than 4,000 new asymptomatic infections.

Currently, more than 70% of large enterprises in Shanghai have resumed operations and restored capacity amid the COVID-19 epidemic still raging in this city. Industrial zones in this world’s leading port city are gradually resuming operations and restoring production. The recovery rate in the group of more than 660 key enterprises reached 90%. Key manufacturing chains such as automobile, circuit and biopharmaceutical plants continued to resume operations and increase production while the leading players maintained stable output.
