Simple Strings Ruin Google Docs Pages

A simple string of words with the content “And. And. And. And. And.” may cause a Google Docs editor page to crash.

According to Engadget, was discovered on Google support pages not too long ago, the poster seems to have discovered this unusual error. In his description, the poster said that the string of five conjunctions And is separated by a period and distinguishing between uppercase and lowercase letters is the cause of the error. Reports show that the problem occurs on a variety of devices, for example MacBook Pro 16-inch 2019 running macOS Monteray 12.3.1 and Google Chrome 100.0.4896.127. When an error is encountered, the content displays two pop-ups “An error occurred” and “The file could not be loaded” and asks the user to reload the page. But even when the page reloads, the windows keep popping up. This is known as a “death loop”.

Notably, even when running Google Docs on Firefox 99.0.1 with MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.1 also encountered the problem.
