Soft robot to support internal medicine

A type of black mucus containing “magnetic particles” called “robot soft.” The robot can navigate through narrow and winding passages, and move objects when controlled by magnets.

Scientists hope in the future, this robot can go inside the human body to help with surgery, dispense drugs and collect foreign objects.

The magnetic particles used are toxic to the human body. So the researchers plan to develop an extra layer of outer membrane for the soft robot.
