The localities that recorded the highest number of infections compared to the previous day: Quang Binh (up 48), Dak Nong (up 35), Nghe An (up 28).
The average number of new infections in the country recorded in the past 7 days is 3,696 cases/day.
According to the Ministry of Health, in the fourth outbreak (from April 27, 2021 to now), the number of infections recorded in the country is 10,662,820 cases, of which 9,313,420 patients have been declared cured.
Localities with high cumulative infections during this outbreak: Hanoi (1,590.463), Ho Chi Minh City (608,660), Nghe An (482,350), Bac Giang (385,581), Binh Duong (383,496).
Also according to the Ministry of Health, on May 6, there were 1,817 patients COVID-19 was announced to be cured, bringing the total number of cured cases to 9,316,237 cases.
The number of patients who are breathing oxygen is 480 cases, of which, breathing oxygen through a mask: 380 cases; HFNC high-flow oxygen: 50 cases; non-invasive mechanical ventilation: 11 cases; invasive mechanical ventilation: 37 cases and ECMO: 2 cases.
From 5:30 p.m. on May 5 to 5:30 p.m. on May 6, the country recorded 6 more deaths from COVID-19. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Vietnam so far is 43,055, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.
