Watch Russia rehearse a military parade to celebrate Victory Day over fascism
The Moscow Times reported, Victory Day (May 9) is one of the most important national holidays in Russia because many Russians are related to someone who fell in the Great Patriotic War.
As is customary every year, Russian authorities will hold a jubilant celebration, including a grand military parade in Moscow’s Red Square, on May 9. The Russian armed forces are actively training day and night for this special event.
The parade This year is expected to gather about 11,000 people with 131 types of equipment and 77 aircraft. The event is believed to attract the most attention in years. The reason is because they take place in the middle of Moscow’s progress military offensive in Ukraine with the aim of “demilitarizing and de-fascistizing” the neighboring country.
In recent days, many Western officials believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin may officially declare war on Ukraine on May 9. However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on May 4 flatly denied this.
