On the afternoon of May 7, the leader of the People’s Committee of Luong Son commune (Yen Lap district, Phu Tho province) said that the police of Yen Lap district had just arrested Cao Van Trung (27 years old, residing in Luong Son commune) to clarify the murder.
Before that, Mr. VHH (20 years old, residing in Luong Son commune) worked in the 113rd Brigade, and returned to his hometown to take a leave of absence.
At about 4 pm on May 6, while Mr. H. sat and talked with Trung (who is Mr. H’s cousin), the two people had conflicts and quarrels.
Suddenly, Trung took a knife to stab Mr. H. to death, then ran to the cornfield about 200 meters from the scene to hide.
Receiving the news, H.Yen Lap police were present and organized to round up Trung. At about 16:40 on the same day, Trung was arrested.
The leader of Luong Son Commune People’s Committee said that the case has been handed over to the military’s investigation agency for clarification according to its competence.
