Recently, many sources said that Apple has asked its largest manufacturer, Foxconn, to increase recruitment. This work is to speed up the assembly process to avoid the iPhone 14″ this year late user appointment.
However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this recruitment had to stop. According to SCMP, the Chinese government’s 7-day blockade has led to the interruption of Foxconn’s recruitment for the factory in Zhengzhou.
Previously, Foxconn had to increase the bonus level to attract workers during the low production season, in order to prepare for the launch of iPhone 14 and continue to release iPhone 13.
Production at the Zhengzhou factory itself can be uninterrupted, as the facility has a self-contained system that keeps workers inside factories and dormitories. However, the problem that Apple is concerned about is that if the ban is prolonged, the supply chain could be affected.
Additionally, the Zhengzhou facility is responsible for 80% of global iPhone production. If the situation does not improve, plus the prolonged bans and difficulties in recruiting, it is likely that the iPhone 14 will suffer the same fate as the iPhone 12.
Due to the impact of the pandemic, iPhone 12 has been delayed by more than a month for users. Last year, Apple fixed the problem and released the iPhone 13 on time. Although the current epidemic is not as complicated as it was two years ago, it is still difficult to be certain of anything at this point.
iPhone 14 is expected to have the same overall design as its predecessor. However, the Pro version may have a pill-shaped notch design, with a new chip and a higher-resolution camera, promising to be the best smartphone in 2022.
