Income 20 million VND/month, don’t have a house, but buying a car is my best decision!

Currently, in Vietnam, cars are almost no longer rare but are still a relatively high value asset for many people and families. Going to the street, a long line of cars from popular to high-end brands, one after another, creates a scene that is “both painful to the eyes” and “desirable”. That’s my thinking, a 28-year-old young man, unmarried, unmarried – works as an insurance consultant with an average income of about 20,000,000 VND/month. From the age of 28 to the age of 30, I had the idea of buying a car and decided to turn it into reality.

At the beginning of this year, when I had just passed the 30th birthday, after 2 years of “playing frugally, saving money”, I boldly invested in a mid-range car to be in the flow of people with cars. traffic on the road. Especially every time I go back to my hometown, about 60km from Hanoi, instead of crowded/waiting for a bus or riding a motorbike in the rain or sun, I drive home by myself – both safe, healthy and bringing peace of mind. care for his parents when his son is an adult “buying a car by his own income”.

Of course, the price to pay for the car is about 400,000,000 VND – a monthly installment debt of 5,000,000 VND (when I bought the car, I had about 200,000,000 VND available due to 2 years of accumulation) , the cost of paying for gasoline and related expenses for the car is about 3,000,000 VND – 4,000,000 VND. I will still have to “eat, spend, rent savings” for at least another 3-4 years to pay off the car loan.

The benefits of being a young adult – and you own a car

But I think it’s totally worth it. And I find that my decision is extremely right after owning a car for a while

Owning a car has many benefits beyond just traffic safety. In Vietnam, having a car as a personal property is one of the dreams of every person – especially young unmarried men like me. This proves to a certain extent the success in work and life. When I have a car, my life has become more comfortable and at the same time, working as a life insurance consultant, the car has enhanced my image, making it a lot more convenient for me at work. . I became more confident, living a more purposeful life (to earn money to pay off debt) when compared to traveling by taxi, bus or motorbike.

With hot weather or a lot of rain like in Vietnam, the car at that time also had a great effect. At that time, when you need to go to the street, even if you have money to call a taxi or order grab, it is not possible to call. During the New Year, if I want to go back to my hometown or travel in some places near the capital, it will certainly not be a concern because I can take the initiative to travel. For me, a car is a form of enjoyment that a young person should strive for.

In particular, since owning a car, from being a single guy without a girlfriend, I have gained a lot of confidence in my journey to find the “first wife” for my life. I think, when girls see a young man in his 30s owning a car, you will also feel more secure because that means, the boy’s economy and work are somewhat different. stable and not too low income, capable in work and life.

Talking about the cost to “raise” the car, even with the current increase in gasoline prices, I think it is still acceptable with an average monthly income of about 20,000,000 VND specifically:

Compulsory insurance: nearly 500,000 VND/year for vehicles under six seats.

Registration fee, road fee: 1,600,000 VND/year

Parking costs: about 1,000,000 VND/month.

Fuel fee: 1,000,000 VND – 2,000,000 VND/month (approximately 1000km)

Periodic maintenance fee: about 3,000,000 VND/year

Other arising fees like washing cars, buying tickets through the station… about 500,000 VND/month.

Thus, the total cost for the average car is about 3,000,000 – 4,000,000 VND/month (depending on the conditions and needs of each person – and because you still have to pay the cost of gas if you ride a motorbike for about approx. 800,000 VND/month) – not too big for someone with a stable income.

Thus, I think, owning a car with an income of 20,000,000 VND/month is completely feasible and I have never regretted this decision.
