At present, it is not possible to determine the motive and purpose of the subject when performing the behavior. However, lawyer Hoang Tung determined that this act was done with intentional error. Consequences of property destruction and death may occur, but the subject still defies the act of arson. Gasoline is identified as a dangerous substance in terms of fire and explosion.

“For this act of arson, the subject may be criminally responsible for the crime of destroying property or Intentionally damaging property according to Clause 2, Article 174 of the Penal Code 2015. Accordingly, the highest fine level is punishable by imprisonment for up to 7 years.

In case the subject performs the act of pouring gasoline on fire with the aim of depriving people of life inside the game store, if there are grounds to determine that the satisfactory behavior constitutes the crime of Murder, but the offender has not met the requirements, subject may be held liable for attempted murder. The act of pouring gasoline on fire is defined as an act of murder by a method capable of causing many deaths.

Regarding this incident, Ms. TTBT (33 years old, owner of a game shop) said that at about 1pm on May 3, a young man about 30 years old was wearing skinny jeans, a white jacket, and a white cap. , ride a motorbike and bring a gas can with a volume of more than 3 liters to the shop.

After a while of cursing, this person suddenly poured gasoline on the floor and lit it on fire, causing the fire to flare up violently. Hearing the screams, Ms. T’s relatives quickly used a fire extinguisher to control and extinguish the fire.

“This person pointed a warning and poured gasoline all over the floor. I ran out to intervene but he burned a piece of cloth, threw it on the floor, causing the fire to engulf me. I have no conflict with anyone and do not know the person who lit the fire.” , Ms. T said.

According to the game shop owner, at the time of the incident, there were 3 children, 5 adults, about 30 guests playing games and more than 10 motorbikes. After setting fire, the young man threw the petrol can and got on a motorbike to leave.

The fire was promptly extinguished by a relative of Ms. T. using a CO2 bottle. The female shop owner suffered burns to her leg when she ran out to prevent the arsonist.

“I slipped, but I was able to hold onto the motorbike so I didn’t fall and only burned my leg. Fortunately, no motorbike was on fire, but I don’t know what bad things will happen,” the shop owner was afraid.

Received the news, Hiep Binh Chanh ward police were present at the scene, took the victim’s statements, and collected camera data to serve the investigation.
