The development trend of AI in solving math problems in Vietnam

The expert gives the development trends of AI in related to machine learning, algorithms, data monitoring… specific problem solving applications in Vietnam.

The information was stated at the scientific conference “Current and Future Trends in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence” held on the afternoon of May 6, by the School of Information and Communication Technology (Ha Noi University of Technology). Noi), BK.AI Artificial Intelligence Research Center (BK.AI) and Korea Naver Corporation organized.

Dr. Dang Thieu Ngan, Director of International Cooperation and Relations of Naver Group, said that when implementing the global AI Research and Development Belt project, Naver chose Vietnam as one of the four main links. by the information technology potential of the AI programmers here. In which, at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, after only one year, there were 5 research projects giving initial results.

One of them is the application of AI to recognize optical characters, recognize characters in image data in Vietnamese (Vietnamese OCR); classifying, tagging Vietnamese, building standard datasets of Vietnamese…

The research team built a rich dataset including scanned text and scene text, applied in converting images to real data. Besides, artificial data helps to collect more than 2,500 Vietnamese fonts and 500,000 background effects in the image, build a library to enrich the dataset, used in artificial text images.

Sharing some initial results of the study, Dr. Nguyen Phi Le, director of BK.AI, said that in the field of AI, OCR (optical character recognition) has high accuracy and is widely applied in practice. In order to develop OCR application research in Vietnamese, the team aims to build a standard dataset, evaluate and propose to improve accuracy, thereby building a system with full features and putting it into operation. technology transfer.

Opinions at the workshop also pointed to many potentials of AI application in solving real-life problems in Vietnam to make life more convenient for users, and businesses to have more intelligent solutions applied to production.

Appreciating the results achieved by the BK.AI Center and Naver, Dr. Ly Hoang Tung, Deputy Director of the High Technology Department, Ministry of Science and Technology said that the events of international scale held have an impact. positively influence the AI research community and students who are passionate about the field of AI.
