The reporter dropped the mic and jumped into the sea to save people
According to the Daily Mail, the incident happened recently at a beach on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. A reporter for the Channel Seven news channel made a brave action, despite everything to successfully rescue a baby boy who was nearly swallowed by the waves.
Reportedly, while broadcasting live news at Surfers Paradise beach area on Thursday evening (May 5), reporter Paul Burt noticed a young boy struggling in the middle of big waves. A few witnesses rushed to the rescue, people standing on the shore screaming loudly.

Paul dropped the mic and plunged into the sea while hosting the live news.

He tried his best to save the boy in trouble.
Despite his work being watched by thousands of live viewers, Paul did not hesitate to let go of the mic and rush towards the 10-year-old in distress.
Later, Paul was seen helping several other men carry the boy ashore. He took off his shirt completely to keep the baby.
Paul reported the incident in the media: “A Pakistani family swam into the water. They were swept out. The child was dragged into a dangerous ditch… About 4-5 of us jumped out to save him. The boy was lucky. Lucky to be alive, still breathing well and conscious, able to speak.”

The reporter also said it took him nearly 10 minutes to find the boy while others were also trying to find the victim amid the fierce waves. Paul was sure that the 10-year-old boy had to swallow a lot of water.
He also added that he was doing a live report at the time about the dangers of the trenches on the beach. People who go swimming often don’t notice and rush in.
Paul told The Courier Mail: “The boy’s father was screaming and crying because he was worried about his son. There was a moment when I thought we lost him. I was frantically searching and thinking about a boy his age.”

At the time, Paul was doing a live report on the dangers of the trenches on the beach.
Videographer Geoff Bowden said at the time he feared both the child and Paul would drown. Luckily all are safe. After this situation, everyone will have their own lesson.
In February 2021, Channel Nine broadcaster Luke Bradnam also plunged into the sea at Narrowneck Beach on the Gold Coast to pull up the body of a swimmer.
The victim is a British gym manager, named Jake Jacobs (32 years old). He tragically drowned after swimming in the sea the night before.
Luke Bradnam told Daily Mail Australia at the time: “We saw the boogie surfer beckoning to us from the water. He looked like he was in trouble. I felt I had to do something. I jumped out and saw a body lying face down in the water. . I’ve never experienced anything like it. I’ve never even seen a dead body before.”
