This provision applies mainly to nightclubs and discos. However, other businesses, such as catering establishments, bars, alcoholic beverage establishments, and karaoke bars, will also be required to comply with this regulation if they plan to hold sexually explicit activity. dance for customers.

What is the expected cost?

This depends on where the visitor wants to go.

Some businesses will ask customers to pay a fee to join. For example, the Zouk nightclub requires payments of between SGD 35 and SGD 40 for female customers, and between SGD 40 and SGD 50 for male customers. This fee includes two drinks.

In addition to the cost of participation and drinking water, customers also need to pay for the ART test prior to arrival.

At Zouk, costs range from S$12 for an online supervised ART test to S$20 if a customer opts for an on-site test. The cost of the on-site testing service, provided by the Bethesda centre, includes test kits that come with a unique barcode for registration with the Ministry of Health of Singapore upon completion of testing.

A third-party ART testing counter located outside the Yang Club in Clarke Quay will assist customers with testing for a cost of S$15. On-site testing at the Cherry Discotheque on Cecil Street has a similar fee.

According to Singapore government regulations, visitors should still wear masks when participating in any indoor activities, including when at night clubs, discos or karaoke bars.

However, it is not mandatory to wear a mask when participating in outdoor activities.

Nightlife businesses must adhere to immunization-based safety controls at the entrance. Therefore, travelers need to ensure that they have the TraceTogether app installed before to confirm arrival.

As of April 26, although safety management measures based on immunization status have been removed for most operations, nightlife businesses that organize dancing are still required to comply with these regulations.
