Thousands of students flock to Hanoi Pedagogical School for university entrance exams
Nearly 2,400 students from many provinces and cities came to Hanoi National University of Education on the morning of May 7 to take a competency assessment exam to enroll in the school.
At 6:30 a.m., Thanh Trung, a 12th grader in Dan Phuong district, Hanoi was present at Hanoi National University of Education. However, when he arrived at the test site, Trung was nervous when he saw a large number of candidates present. “There are only 50 indicators of Physics Pedagogy in terms of test scores. Perhaps the competition will be high,” Trung said.

Registering for two exams in Literature and English for admission to English Pedagogy, it took until 9:15 am, Huyen Linh, a 12th grade student in Lang Giang district (Bac Giang province) to take the exam. However, the female student started from home at more than 4 o’clock, traveled more than 80 km to get to the test site at 6:30, equal to the first poets. “The first time I took the exam away from home, I was a little careful to keep my mind at ease,” the female student shared.
For Huyen Linh, the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education is like a second door to help her set foot in her dream school. Registering for the ability assessment exam at the end of March, from then on, the female student worked hard as a reference to understand the structure of the topic and the content to review.
“The exam has the same content as the high school graduation exam but it is more difficult. The essay section is similar to the exam for good students but easier. If the official question is the same, candidates can do the test without revision. more,” Linh said. In the first deployment, Hanoi Pedagogical School organized eight exams including Mathematics, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Geography. In which, Literature subject has 30% multiple choice questions on language and 70% essay. The remaining subjects have 70% multiple choice questions and 30% essay.
In order to take the exam, candidates need to have good conduct for all semesters at the high school level from Good and the average grade point average of 5 semesters (grades 10, 11 and first semester of grade 12) is 6.5 or higher. The school’s system recorded nearly 3,000 registered candidates, but only nearly 2,400 qualified students, arranged into 209 exam rooms.
Candidates taking the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education can register up to two aspirations. These aspirations are completely independent of other methods such as based on high school graduation exam scores, direct or combined admissions.
The principle of admission is by industry, based on the results of the two-subject competency assessment test (multiplied coefficients and plus priority points). For disciplines with aptitude tests, the school considers the total score of the competency assessment subjects plus the gifted subject (multiplied coefficients and added priority points).
