TV app and Xbox game streaming device may be available soon
Microsoft confirmed last summer that it was working on an app for Xbox TVs and game streaming devices.
According to Engadget, it has been 11 months since Microsoft confirmed that it is producing a dedicated game streaming device and a Smart TV app for the Xbox ecosystem. The company hasn’t released more details about the two since then, but a new report suggests they could roll out to users in the coming months.

According to GamesBeat, the streaming device, which can be plugged into a TV or monitor, will come in a bar or block design. In other words, it would be like Amazon Fire Stick or Chromecast. Many believe that the device is not only capable of streaming games from Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but can also be used to watch movies and TV shows.
In addition, Microsoft is said to be working with Samsung on an Xbox app for its Smart TV. Some of Samsung’s 2022 TV models already support game streaming services like Google Stadia and NVIDIA GeForce Now. It won’t be a surprise to see the Xbox Cloud Gaming app on future Samsung TVs.
Both the TV and streaming apps are expected to launch within the next 12 months. They are part of Microsoft’s Xbox Everywhere strategy. The aim of the strategy is as straightforward as its name suggests, the company wants to reach gamers wherever they are, even if they don’t have an Xbox console or a gaming-capable PC.
Fans may not have to wait long to see the next roadmap for Xbox Everywhere initiatives. Xbox & Bethesda rollout will take place on June 12th which could bring a lot of information new newspaper desirable.
