“The Philippines U23 draw made me unhappy”

U23 Vietnam drew U23 Philippines in the match that took place at 19:00 on May 8 at the group stage of SEA Games 31. Previously, on May 7, Thailand U23 lost 1-2 to U23 Malaysia in Group B at the stadium. Thien Truong, when asked by a reporter about deliberately holding a draw in this match, coach Park Hang-seo immediately denied:

“First of all, I would like to share the result of Thailand vs Malaysia match which has nothing to do with today’s match, I don’t have any calculations to draw because this is no different from match-fixing. The draw does not satisfy me. but we see that the opponent plays a lot of defense, not only U23 but also on the national team we have many situations like this.It is not easy for me to present here, I can only say that next game we will try our best. The team has a day off tomorrow and the coaching staff will find a way to fix this.”

In tonight’s match, Coach Park Hang-seo threw both Hung Dung and Hoang Duc into the official squad, but in the second half, the Korean leader replaced Hung Dung with Hai Long, in terms of calculation. At the central midfielder position, Mr. Park said:

“In my list, each position has 2 names in case injury, not playing can change. However, players over 23 years old play better skills than U23, so there is a difference. U23. Vietnam still has a choice, if the player is too old to be able to play, he can still replace another player, we are always prepared for that.”
