6 boys join the IMO International Mathematical Olympiad team in 2022

Specifically, the team members participating in the 2022 Vietnam International Mathematical Olympiad include:

1. Ngo Quy Dang (student of class 12A1 Mathematics, High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences – VNU). Quy Dang was once known as the first 10th grader in Vietnam to enter the international math Olympiad team. At the 2020 International Mathematical Olympiad, she excellently won the Gold Medal;

2. Pham Viet Hung (student of class 11A1 Mathematics, High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences, University of Science – VNU);

3. Vu Ngoc Binh (student of class 12A1, Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, Vinh Phuc Province). Vu Ngoc Binh also won a bronze medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2021;

4. Hoang Tien Nguyen (student of class 12A1, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An Province). Hoang Tien Nguyen is known for his “double” prize for the first prize for excellent student in Mathematics at the national level (grades 11 and 12);

5. Pham Hoang Son (student in grade 12 Math, High School for the Gifted, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City);

6. Nguyen Dai Duong (student of class 12A1, Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa Province).

Students will participate in the 63rd International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in person in Oslo, Norway, from 6 to 16 July.

Couple from grade 1 won the first prize in national math

Tran Vu Duc Huy and Pham Hoang Hiep are two students of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, who won the first prize in Mathematics in the national exam for excellent students in 2021 that just took place.

Grade 10 student wins IMO Gold Medal ‘innocently’ in math

Not only won the Gold Medal of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), but Ngo Quy Dang, an 11th grader at the High School for the Gifted of Natural Sciences, was also ranked 4th in the world. At the time of being selected to join the team, Ngo Quy Dang was only a 10th grader.

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2020 takes place online. The Vietnamese team competed at the Hanoi University of Natural Sciences and took the test under the constant supervision of cameras and people from the Russian Embassy.
