According to the initial investigation, two years ago, Nguyen borrowed 6 million dong from a 46-year-old neighbor. With no money to pay, this man was cursed many times by his creditor, so he raised the intention of taking revenge. Recently, Nguyen knew that their husband and wife were separated, and the husband lived alone, so he found an opportunity to take action.
On the morning of May 3, Nguyen went to the creditor’s house to drink. In the evening, this man continued to invite him to drink again when he saw him sleeping. Nguyen used a hammer to hit his neighbor’s head several times until he died; stripped the ring, necklace, then threw the victim’s two phones and the murder weapon into the river.

Late the next day, Nguyen returned to the scene, drained gasoline from his motorbike, poured it over the victim’s body and around the house, and lit it on fire. He was burned to the face and arms by the fire, stripped of his clothes, threw them in the fire, and left.
On the morning of May 5, Nguyen brought the stolen gold and sold it for more than 42 million VND, paid the debt and spent it all. The next day, he was arrested and admitted to the act.
